Thanksgiving is around the corner, and we are so excited to create a tablescape that is elegant, yet easy to recreate! This is one of our favorite holidays at Swift + Company because it encompasses all of our favorite things; delectable food, the smell of turkey baking in the oven, pumpkins, fall tablescapes, stunning flowers and sitting down at the table with friends and family! When deciding the aesthetic of this shoot, we were inspired by the warm colors of fall with pops of gold, orange and cobalt blue. We wanted to incorporate some of our new favorite rental items, such as our new farm table and our Melodia glassware to make this look warm and inviting. We brought in pops of blue by featuring our Corsica china and Gala glassware in cobalt blue. Seasonal pumpkins with white calligraphy were at each setting to give a personal touch.

Down the center of the table we placed cracked pomegranates, grapes, pears and artichokes to add a twist of interesting textures and colors to the centerpiece.

If you are hosting a dinner, whether it is for a “Friendsgiving” or having your family over, here are some tips that will help your evening be a success!

Thanksgiving Entertaining Tips:

+ Set the table the night before.
+ If hosting at your home, consider the “feel” of your home when choosing décor elements and flowers; you still want guests to feel like they are at YOUR home!
+ Flowers and greenery can totally transform your table. Thanksgiving suggestions: small gourds, low fall flowers, lots of candles, copper, organic elements and game bird feathers.
+ Don’t forget your place cards! This is an easy way for your guests to know where they are sitting and gives a personalized touch at each place setting.
+ Start prepping the food early. Plan a menu that is disaster proof with simple, yet dynamic dishes.
+ Choose foods which are fresh and in season. The food will taste better and will cost less.
+ Have cocktails or wine ready to go before guests arrive.
+ Relax, have fun and enjoy the party!

Thank you to our talented vendor friends for participating in this styled shoot, and helping our vision come to life!

While first responders are busy in the relief efforts of Hurricane Harvey, many people are stepping up to make sure they are well fed.

Swift + Company immediately thought to reach out to their favorite Houston Police Department security officers to see where they could send food. With no surprise, Police Officer Mark Bremio went into action to find somewhere for their donation.

The heroic acts of the first responders have inspired the nation to come together to push relief efforts forward. There are still many long days a head. Find out different ways to help feed the first responders by checking out this Facebook page or by sending donations to Houston Cares.

Swift + Company wants to thank everyone who have stepped up and helped the community. Their thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The 10th anniversary of Hermann Park Conservancy‘s “Hats in the Park” luncheon was held in a party tent in the center of McGovern Centennial Gardens on March 30, 2017.  Swift + Company created the perfect table settings for the al fresco “Primavera” themed event.  Farm tables and cross back chairs set with centerpieces of artichokes, rosemary, boxed topiaries, and platters of antipasto created the perfect ambiance.

Guests were welcomed with flutes of Prosecco and Pinot Grigio and enjoyed a preset Al Fresco Lunch of Salad Of Arugula and Baby Spinach, Chicken Meatballs and Roasted Vegetable Orzo Pasta Salad. For dessert, Dried Cranberry and Pistachio Biscotti, Italian Fig “Cuccidati” Cookies were set out in the middle of the table, while Lemon Gelato and Iced Cappuccino were passed!

To learn more about this event, and to see pictures of all the fabulous ladies in their wide-brimmed hats, check out the coverage from Papercity Magazine and the Houston Chronicle.

Let’s Talk Houston

We had a blast attending and decorating our Swift + Company themed table with our rentals and flowers at Let’s Talk Houston. We were so honored to be one hostesses for the event and getting to raffle off a $1000 rental gift certificate to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation! Each centerpiece served as an auction item and a conversation starter, and of course we had to make ours edible with our signature bacon-wrapped quail skewers amidst fresh flowers from Holland!

Take a look at us featured in the Houston Chronicle!
